Hey There! I’m Johanna.

Born in Montreal to Taiwanese parents, I create enso circles - aptly named Ensoscape - in sumi ink, acrylic paint and 24k gold leaf.

Inspired by mindfulness, my art nurtures a deeper connection with yourself by bringing a gentle awareness and understanding to your life. My influences stem from psychology as well as wabi-sabi philosophy and the concept of kintsugi - accepting imperfection as part of life and embracing your flaws with your strengths wholeheartedly. I explore the emotions that arise from chaos and suffering before transforming them into serene reflections of inner peace, healing, strength and resilience.

I graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History. After art school, I continued my education in finance, then spent the next decade in the dynamic world of private wealth management before leaving it all behind to become a full-time artist in 2021. I’m currently training to become a certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher. I look forward to expanding my services to teach courses and workshops in addition to offering art that promotes harmony and peace.

Outside of my private home studio on the South Shore of Montreal, I’m a dedicated dog mom to my two shiba inus, Skyloh and Skia. I practise meditation, yoga and collect pet-friendly plants. In my spare time, I enjoy training my dogs, hosting dinner parties, and hiking in national parks.
